Terms of Service
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to all services provided by Adelaide Skip Bins ("we", "us", or "our"). By booking a skip bin, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these terms in full.
1. Bookings & Payments
- Bookings can be made via our website, by phone, or by email.
- All prices include GST unless otherwise stated and are subject to confirmation at the time of booking.
- Full payment or deposit is required prior to delivery unless alternative arrangements are made in writing.
- We reserve the right to refuse, modify, or cancel any booking if capacity, location, or waste type is unsuitable.
- Quoted prices are based on standard waste weight and type. Additional charges apply for excess weight, prohibited items, or contamination.
2. Third-Party Providers & Contractors
Adelaide Skip Bins works with a trusted network of independent contractors and waste management providers ("Third-Party Providers") to deliver bins, transport, and process waste. If we are unable to fulfill your order directly, we may assign or subcontract the job to another licensed provider at our discretion.
- When a third-party provider completes your booking, they assume full operational control for delivery, collection, and disposal.
- Additional fees such as overweight charges, contamination fees, or waiting times are set and billed directly by the third-party provider.
- We are not liable for delays, damages, or additional costs incurred by third-party operators, tipping facilities, or transport companies.
- By proceeding with a booking, you consent to Adelaide Skip Bins assigning the job to a third-party contractor if required.
3. Delivery & Collection
- Delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to weather, traffic, workload, or site access conditions.
- The customer must ensure safe, clear, and suitable access for trucks to deliver and collect bins.
- Bins must not be moved, relocated, or obstructed once placed without prior approval.
- If the driver determines that access or ground conditions are unsafe, delivery may be refused or rescheduled.
4. Hire Period & Extensions
- Standard hire is 7 days from delivery.
- Extended hire is available upon request at an additional daily rate.
- Failure to make the bin available for collection on the agreed date may incur additional daily or logistical fees.
- We may collect bins early if they are overfilled, contain prohibited waste, or pose safety risks.
5. Acceptable & Prohibited Waste
Customers are responsible for ensuring only acceptable materials are placed in the bin.
- Accepted: general household, green waste, clean-fill, concrete, bricks, and construction materials.
- Prohibited: asbestos, gas cylinders, batteries, liquids, paint, oil, medical waste, chemicals, tyres, and contaminated soil.
- Bins found to contain prohibited or contaminated materials may incur additional disposal or handling fees as determined by the disposal facility.
- We or our third-party partners reserve the right to refuse collection of unsafe or contaminated bins.
6. Overweight, Contamination & Additional Charges
- Each bin includes a standard weight allowance as stated at booking. Exceeding that allowance incurs a tipping surcharge at the waste facility's current rate per tonne.
- Mixed or contaminated loads (e.g., concrete with general waste) may attract reclassification fees.
- If the bin cannot be safely lifted due to excess weight, an additional call-out or split-load fee will apply.
- Any such additional charges from third-party weighbridge or waste facilities will be passed directly to the customer.
7. Council Permits & Placement
- Bins placed on private property do not typically require council approval.
- Bins placed on public land (roads, nature strips, verges) may require a council permit, which is the customer's responsibility unless agreed otherwise.
- Adelaide Skip Bins and its contractors are not liable for fines or penalties due to unapproved placement.
8. Liability, Damage & Indemnity
- All bins remain the property of Adelaide Skip Bins or its contractors at all times.
- We are not liable for damage to driveways, pavements, lawns, fences, underground services, or structures resulting from delivery or collection unless caused by proven negligence.
- Customers indemnify Adelaide Skip Bins and its contractors from all claims, damages, penalties, or losses arising from misuse, overloading, or placement of the bin.
- We accept no liability for indirect, consequential, or economic loss resulting from delays, third-party actions, or force majeure events.
9. Cancellations & Refunds
- Bookings cancelled within 24 hours of scheduled delivery may incur a cancellation or handling fee.
- Once a bin has been dispatched or delivered, no refund applies.
- Refunds (if applicable) are processed within 5 business days to the original payment method.
10. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for any failure or delay in service resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, traffic, strikes, mechanical breakdown, or subcontractor failure.
11. Privacy
We collect personal information solely for the purpose of processing bookings and providing skip bin services. We do not sell or share your information with third parties except where required by law or for operational needs (e.g. subcontractors). View our Privacy Policy for details.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Adelaide, SA.
