Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how Adelaide Skip Bins ("we", "us", "our") manages changes, cancellations, and refund requests for skip bin bookings. By confirming a booking, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Booking Confirmation

  • A booking is confirmed once payment has been made and a confirmation email or invoice has been issued.
  • Prices quoted are based on the information provided at the time of booking, including bin size, waste type, and delivery address.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or modify bookings if incorrect details were supplied or if service is unavailable.

2. Cancellations by the Customer

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled delivery are eligible for a full refund or service credit, less any processing fees.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of scheduled delivery may incur a handling or transport fee of up to $80, depending on notice and travel distance.
  • If the truck has already been dispatched or the bin delivered, no refund applies.
  • Bookings made through third-party contractors may be subject to their individual refund and cancellation terms, which will take precedence.

3. Cancellations by Adelaide Skip Bins

  • We may cancel or reschedule a booking if delivery access is unsafe, weather conditions are extreme, or trucks are unavailable.
  • If cancellation occurs due to circumstances within our control, a full refund or credit will be offered.
  • If cancellation is due to inaccurate or misleading information provided by the customer (e.g. wrong waste type, access blocked), a service fee may apply.

4. Refund Eligibility

Refunds are available under the following conditions:

  • Delivery could not be completed due to an error on our part and no suitable reschedule is possible.
  • Bin was not delivered within a reasonable time (beyond 24 hours of agreed window) and customer requests cancellation.
  • Duplicate payment or overcharge errors verified by us or our payment processor.

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5 business days after confirmation.

5. No Refund Situations

  • Bin already delivered or dispatched.
  • Delivery refused due to unsafe site or access restrictions beyond our control.
  • Bin filled with prohibited or contaminated waste.
  • Customer changes their mind or no longer requires the bin after delivery.
  • Delays or issues caused by third-party contractors, weighbridge facilities, or councils.

6. Third-Party Providers & Service Credits

Adelaide Skip Bins may subcontract bin delivery, pickup, or waste processing to independent third-party providers. In these cases:

  • Any additional charges, delays, or refund amounts are determined by the third-party provider's terms and passed directly to the customer.
  • If a third-party provider applies tipping, overweight, or contamination fees, these costs are non-refundable once charged.
  • At our discretion, we may issue a service credit instead of a refund for future bookings with us.

7. Overweight or Contaminated Loads

Each bin includes a weight allowance as quoted during booking. Exceeding this allowance or mixing waste types (e.g. green waste with bricks) may result in tipping surcharges from waste facilities. These costs are the sole responsibility of the customer and are not eligible for refund.

8. Right to Refuse Service or Leave Material

Adelaide Skip Bins reserves the right to refuse collection or leave material on-site under the following circumstances:

  • Overfilled Bins: If the skip bin is filled above the designated water line (fill line), we reserve the right to leave any excess rubbish on-site or refuse collection until the bin is properly filled.
  • Non-Payment or Fraudulent Activity: If payment has not been received, chargebacks have been initiated, or any fraudulent activities are detected (as determined by Adelaide Skip Bins), we may refuse service, tip the contents on-site, or leave the bin until payment is resolved.
  • Prohibited Waste: If the bin contains prohibited or contaminated materials that were not disclosed at booking, we reserve the right to refuse collection, leave the material on-site, or arrange for specialized disposal at the customer's expense.
  • Unable to Lift Bin: If our truck is unable to safely lift the bin due to excessive weight, unsafe positioning, or other operational constraints, an additional callout fee of $575 will be charged. This fee must be paid in full before the bin can be removed. No refund applies for this additional service charge.

These measures are in place to ensure safety, compliance with waste regulations, and fair service for all customers. All fees associated with refused service or additional callouts are non-refundable.

9. Delivery Delays

While we aim for timely service, delivery times are estimates only. Adelaide Skip Bins is not liable for incidental or consequential losses due to delays caused by weather, mechanical issues, or subcontractor capacity.

10. Australian Consumer Law

This policy operates in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for major failures and to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

11. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or raise a cancellation issue, please contact our office directly with your booking number and supporting details.

All refund requests will be reviewed within 5 business days.

12. Policy Updates

Adelaide Skip Bins reserves the right to amend this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. The latest version will always be available at adelaideskipbins.com/refunds.
